googled your name and found your blog. I’ve noticed you to be very active on snipd, so maybe you’re more up to date than I am. Can you tell me what’s going on there? Things are changing and I don’t have a good feeling about it. Hope to hear from you soon.
bye, Lisa
ps bye the way did see some of your photo’s but at flickr. knowing how difficult it is to photograph food I must compliment you on making them so appealing, real appetizers!
I don’t think I know anything that you don’t already know yourself. I just noticed the changes about 5 minutes ago. It is very sudden and that is worrisome, doubly so due to the lack of notice. Everything I snip on snipd gets sucked into my blog and it’s actually duplicated on my hard drive, too. I won’t lose any data if snipd goes down. I’m not sure specifically what I’d replace them with but for my purpose, I know that there are several other suitable services.
Thanks. Restaurant atmosphere certainly isn’t conducive to good photography.
Oh boy also a bad feeling. Wouldn’t like it to see them disappear, love the ease of it. But as you say, they are not irreplaceable but not all come with the same ease of use. You’re playing it real safe, don’t have everything backed up here, but working on it. Just made a website and have to copy like mad. Have fun with the two combined hobbies and thanks for the reply, Lisa
I maintain a personal database of locations. Restaurants, mostly. Other locations to help me orient myself while looking for restaurants. It's grown quite large. It includes most of the Beard Award nominees for the last three years for instance. Plus hundreds of other restaurants from magazine awards and random things I hear. If, for instance, you were interested in a list all the BBQ restaurants that I'm interested in, you would browse this map. These aren't recommendations. I've visited a small fraction of these restaurants. This is a list of places that I'd like to visit. I try to only add items based on reputable recommendations. But when I'm a little lightheaded, sometimes stuff slips in. Don't foodblog when you're hungry.Click here to go to Tagzania and browse my list.
