I have to go back at least once so that I can replace this horrible picture. These are the fried pickles.
The Town Fryer (myspace) has a Cleveland-unique menu. I know everyone thinks that Michael Symon invented the bologna sandwich but I’m looking forward to trying the Fryer’s. And they always seemed to bring in good music and support interesting events. Personally, I’ve been there a few times and don’t remember a lot of what I ate. I do remember the fried pickles and they were more than enough to get me to go back and reacquiant myself with the menu. The sauce they came with (a remoulade?) was also phenomenal. All in all, I’m really rooting for them so I was happy to hear that they’ve been reincarnated as Backstage at the Agora. Currently, they’re only open for concerts but they expect to be open to the public shortly. I’m looking forward to it.
Their myspace page also has an announcement for the “biggest Mardi Gras party Cleveland has ever experienced.” I believe them. I’ve read about some pretty elaborate events they’ve hosted in the past. I threw up an event listing at Upcoming.org.
